They're made of real wood. They're quite lightweight but very sturdy. They're available in two colors: Walnut and Cherry. (Walnut is the darker color).

In the pictures you can see a pink high-heel shoe. This is Barbie's shoe, so it's 1:6 scale. The scale of the shelves depend on what you're using them for, but as a general guide, the small and medium shelves are best suited to 1:12 scale. The medium and large shelves are best suited to 1:6 scale.
